Bank Holiday Madness

What’s cracking people! Once again one and only Mr Midas. I’ve had a hectic, hectic Bank Holiday madness. Right now I’m sitting in front of my PC in my boxers with a cup of hot chocolate with cream on top. What a rock and roll lifestyle. LoL

So my Bank Holiday weekend… Started from Friday day time where I had loads and loads of meetings regarding my new promo ‘Try Make Me (Slow Down),’ which you’ll all hear very soon. And my night…it started off with a BANG at the G-Shock Watches party in Brick Lane with the sexy Catia Cruz, the very talented Ayshen from Fenix and the one and only Tunde. The night was a blast inside the G-shock bar there were performances from Terri Walker as well as many other talented guests.
Partied all night and a very interesting Nandos experience after…lol.

Sunday was all about carnival. I went down repping my Jamaica colours strong and proud and did a huge performance for D101 Magazine. I rocked the crowd with my brand new track ‘Try Make Me…’ and was blessed with sexy ladies and the very stunning Miss Mewla – see pictures below:

After carnival, I headed down to Dover to rock the stage with the one and only Richie Fargas. We ripped up the set in Club Karma then I had a very interesting conversation with a Babestation hunny *winks*. Heading back to London with no sleep I headed onto film the set of BOOM TV to shoot episode 5 of the new show, with special guests such as the one and only Scorcher. And although I never slept, I rocked the camera the only way Mr Midas can.

35 hours later – with no sleep – I ended the weekend with a nice meal at The Spot, the American soul food restaurant in Kilburn.

So hectic weekend, no sleep, lovely ladies and loads of music…the life and times of Mr Midas.

What’s cracking people!
Yes, the one and only Mr Midas back again! It’s been a long time since I’ve updated you all on what’s going on in my hectic world. I’ve been super busy as usual and working extreeemely hard. But, you know me, I love what I does.
ANYWAYS
We’re better to begin than with one of the biggest, and I mean biggest parts in my career right now – and that’s BOOM TV! What’s BOOM TV? (You should already know is showing every Thursday and Saturday on 4Music and Kiss TV airs the weekly TV show with an urban flavour – BOOM TV – and the best bit? It’s hosted by me, the legendary Mr M, (Blap! Blap!) Alongside DJ Goldierocks and Twin B.

I ain’t gonna lie the audition process got me nervous! There were castings after castings, each one getting more intense, but of course, it didn’t take long before I got into the swing of things. After a few weeks later, I received dat call and the rest is a wrap.

So yeah, BOOM TV is a huge, huge deal for me. I’ve done presenting before, plus a couple behind the scenes footage for various events, but this time Mr M’s gone mainstream people! I’m super excited and loving this right now.

BOOM TV is set to have some top quality shows for you, and as the frontline of the music industry, BOOM TV will give you the latest news on what’s going on in the music scene. We’ve shot two amazing episodes so far, and for all those who missed it don’t let it happen again! Lol! Our last guests were Professor Green and Tinchy Strider, and we really got into the nitty gritty of what’s really happening with him at the mo. But, how can I forget the ladies? I was surrounded by them! These beautiful women were kissing and hugging every bit of me they could grab – and I made sure it was a lot! Imagine getting paid to have the ladies falling at your feet? Damn what a hard life Mr Midas lives!

Okay what's good peoples I'm on the motor way listening to the England match on radio (was watching it live on the iPhone but killin my battery) and WTF 4-1 shake my head big joke!!

Yes! That was a taster of Mr Midas’ new tune “Midas” and after watching his new music video I have to say I was impressed. The video was screened to perfection. Looking slick with a whole lot of swagger the young dancehall reggae artist has done it again and given you another guaranteed hit. Be sure to put this one on your download list. If you never knew what Mr Midas was all about where have you been? But don’t worry Midas is sure to let you know exactly what the Mr Midas is all about.

Professionally done, Midas grabs your attention taking you on a sneak preview of the typical day of Mr Midas. Living the life of luxury, Mr Midas has got the ladies pulling up in his drive as he steps out of his house that can only be described as exclusive.

Mr Midas has cleverly kept the focus of his video simple which shows that he does not need over the top scene changes to make a creative video that works. The main scenes are at a sophisticated nightclub, an environment that definitely compliments this upbeat song because when you hear it you’re bound to want to go on the dance floor. Hope you had a good Bank Holiday Weekend, mines was great and this had nuttin todo with music or Mr Midas career. I had a weekend from music, just family and a few tru friends and new friends.

So Friday night I went down to Milton Keyes to see or hear… yea hear Stone Love play, now Stone Love is one of the biggest sounds in yard (group of DJ’s in Jamaica) so it was a real dancehall affair, like girls with yellow hair and yellow dresses lol I danced partied hard and ate nuff Jerk Chicken (big up to chef) and partied all night longggg. Woiiiiiii
Oh I pumped into my MLS too added bonus.

Saturday I took my mums to get her Birthday prezzy in West End and then we went out to a nice Thai restaurant, just me and mummsy… We probably haven’t done that for a good 5yrs jus as two.

Monday was all about Thorpe Park, the day never started too great with a few people pulling out but actually worked out very well.
I went on some big ass rollercoaster called STEALTH that went from 0-80mph in 2.3seconds. KMT! Mad scary, but the highlight of the day was the Saw movie walkthrough maze, me and 10 other crazy peoples walked through this scary ass dark maze and I never laughed sooo much in years too funny. Big up the Thorpe Park crew, Ellz, Screamer, Tunda, Bad twin & Craven twin, team leader Jess, Gangsta Suren & everyone else u made my day say nuttin …

So yea that’s about it, I had an amazing weekend and it never concerned my career… so my point is to truly live life sometimes you have to step out your dream for a min to keep your dream as a dream not a nightmare.

It was that time again where we mix class and style with the No.1 lifestyle magazine ‘Flavour Magazine’ Miss Flavour 2009 beauty pageant.

This years Miss Flavour was held at the very plush Cafe’ Di Paris in the heart of West End where 11 girls competed to win the title of Miss Flavour 2009.

Evening wear, bikini and strike a pose decided these beauties fate.

Everyone knows that Mr Midas is a big fan and supporter or Flavour magazine and I am always apart of the event in some form and this year I was there wearing my presenting hat and interviewing the stars and beautiful models.

The night was very stylish and was crowed, I missed most the show but I caught up with interviews from, JCX, Tim Westwood, Eddie Kadi, Master Stepz, Slim, Snakeyman a very funny interview with Sway and lovely models including Yana Toma, Claire Fox, Jada Chantina as well as this years Winner Melissa Lewars walked away crowned Miss Flavour 2009.

Weekend - Will E Robo & BEFFTA Awards.

This weekend was another hectic one as always but loads of fun, still berryless (T Mobile are mocking my life) I’ve had to resort to blogging the old fashion way Microsoft Word and a PC.
Friday night was all about comedian Will E Robo aka Mr Comedy Def Jam and Puff Daddy’s comedian. I was invited to his show in the Hackney Empire and arrived in white people timing, as was over early (because a Mr Richard CEO “make sure your on time bruv no black people timing”) Arriving at the venue early gave me the chance to check out this classic theatre and thought wow can’t believe the gonna knock this down so much history…. Black people started arriving quite shortly after so I take it we all received the same memo.

The show kicked off with a short but extremely sweet fashion show from Jah–Dean clothing and featured some super hot models including the lovely Miss Ni Ni Law. The crowd (especially the dudes behind me) where very happy, eyeing up all the hot girls. Jah Dean repped! Great start to the night to start with some sexy young ladies a good opener.

The show then started with the host and all round funny man Kat we kicked off the show wit his good still, there was a few opening acts nuttin to scream home about though. Now time for the main man, now admittedly I’ve never heard of Will E Robo but everyone on on twitter was saying he’s the one! And Dude lived up to the hype like wow! His jokes were very American and very sex based but neither is a bad thing and his impressions had the crown roaring with Laughter.

Saturday was all about the launch of the BEFFTA Awards (Black Entertainment Fashion Films and Arts awards) in the very plush Hilton Hotel. After doing the Red carpet I bumped into Lee Jasper and couple old faces and got wisked off to the VIP suite were we were greeted by champagne started well, award winning comedian Miss London and (one of my favorite) comedy genius Richard Blackwood. We were then taken to the sitting area were we ate food and ran into Kojo, DJ Longers, Flavour Magazine plus many more of the scenes talents. Okay to say the night went roughly is the understatement of the century but I’m not gonna diss, cuss or slag it off cause it was the 1st and there is masses of room for improve but hopefully Pauline can make something big outta it. Big shout out to Miss London for her Best Newcomer Award.

She's about to release her new single Bye Bye which is bound to be a ladies anthem, this catchy bassline song is produced by J Dark and features rapper Husky and of course myself that Mr Midas. Crystal is going at all the wotless man Dem and telling them Bye Bye and me and Husky are repping for the man Dem.

We shot a video for the single couple weeks back and the concept was sick, its all based on Barbie and Ken, the video all shot on green screen and the Crystal Celeb Barbie world will be created after.

Urban Superstar Soccer

The Suns been blazing and we've actually had some nice weather what better time to have a huge outdoor event.

Well Sunday 23rd the lovely ladies from Face4music put together the official Urban Superstar soccer event. The basis of the event was to have celebs playing a football match against a semi pro team for Charity and then a big live show.

The day started off great with the Sun blazing and I rolled to the event about 11am for Sound check (which never happened) when I turned up the models where getting the faces put on so to speak and the acts where slowly arriving to the Kingston venue, the main event started at like 2:30 and the match began not long after, the celeb team included Wretch 32, Scorcher' G Fresh, Infa Red, Buck from SN1, Myself, DJ Eastwood, Infa Red plus more..

The day was a great family event and had everything from cheerleaders, flame throwers to food.

Nike had me looking super fresh death as always and you know I was very pleased by all the lovely ladies lol Anyways check the out!

As it has been for the past couple months, wit Mike L promoting and the fully VIP style club its deffo a good combo. I was still tired from roller disco the night before (see below)but Mr Midas parties very hard.

Got to the venue with Jay Reid from Bad Boy Records and couple man dem and was told to queue..... Now I ain't a diva but that’s a par. Holla'd at Mike and that was it.

Got in the club and the ladies were like Jeeezzzzzzzzz, dammm, sexy!! lol deffo Mr Midas time. The night was heavy music was pumping. (Even though the DJ kept stopping the dancehall after like 1 hook, not impressed) and the drinks were flowing, I was on that Belvedere and my glass never seemed to get empty all night lol.

I partied ard... flirted with loads of pretty women and exchanged bare berry pins. Sway was there and did a PA in the strange circling DJ booth and couple other stars passed the venue...
The Venue wasn't as packed as when I went last for the Birthday sex party but was full enough to have the place popping'

The overall night was a success I had fun and got over drunk, I mean tipsy lol

Anyone who knows me Sunday is just another day on the grind but this Sunday I had a fun day...

After sleeping in till after 1pm like a real lazy lad I got up spring cleaned (no maid budget, Yet!) got dressed looking fresh to death in white and blue and hit the road.

I went down to Kojo's Family fun day in Hyde Park which was too much joke black people playing British Bulldog and rounders is jokes.

The park was full of industry heads and famous faces including Kojo (of course) his sexy fun house ladies, Su Elise,
Bianica Simmone, Leonard flavour msg CEO, J stories and the UK Stunners all enjoyin the sun and fun wit there families.

The sun was blazing and there was plenty of pretty faces and my peoples so Mr Midas was a happy bunni....

I then left there and linked couple me people including Miss London at the 02 arena to go roller disco and I'm sick wit it lol considering I've been once before since I was a kid, the music was provided by Choice FM there's nuttin like staking round to some Movado lol.

But was a very fun day gotta do more of them... So every 3rd Sunday is now officially fun day, Mini golf next time.

Super Sunday Show.

So Sunday night was all about the Sunday Show 1st birthday or Super Sunday Show which was amazing and the best so far... Instead of just blogging it i'ma actually review it so here's the Mr Midas Blogtastic review.

I got to the Super Sunday show on white peoples time, not only was I on time but I was early (that's a 1st)
Walked into the Mermaid theatre and was taken to the upstairs lobby were everyone was waiting to be seated, did the met and great with all the industry faces then was taken to the front specially reserved seats, Mr Midas style. There were loads of the industry peeps including Tim Westwood, Twin B. Reggie Yates, Clement Marfo and UK Choc CEO Richard to name a few.

The ladies in the house were like wow!! Everywhere. I kept looking around just to see all the pretty faces. Swear down.

The show ran on black peoples time and Kat 'the nights host' was clowning the microphone and urban budget, the pint sized funny man opened the show with some super funny jokes.... between cussin the crowd and having the gal dem screaming he had the crowd hype and working well.

After the dancing the opening act was Dean Atta spoken word poet who's performance was very strong. He gave 3 different pieces each thought provoking and slick. Young Nate performed his new track wowing the ladies... You girls were slyly excited.

His performance was good except some very unimpressed girls he tired to sing to when steppin off stage. (naming no names lol)

Eddie Kadi rocked the place.... The comical genius had everyone in stitches opened up with his old school jokes how to talk to girls jokes. Too funny!!!! The new king of comedy!!! Swear down!!!

The funniest thing was the game show when Eddie and Jazzie B (What you mean, What you mean) had to give each other some chat up lines on some Bruno ting!!!! Funny though won't lie...

Miss London rocked the stage with her brand new hair style, short slick and very sexy!! and no weave Jeeezzzz lol
She dropped a chat up line that would have any man weak, dropped her bracelet on the floor and picked it up by dropping to the floor doing the full splits! Bumberklart!!! the man dem were hype.

Other performances on the night came from Haley C who slowed it down before dropping some funky funky wearing a super glittery Toto, James Massiah had the girls weak with his spoken word and took a girl from the crowd who was over excited lol was over eyeing him up lol and the Tribal man did the tribal skank with a few dancers including London.

Then it was times for the West Indian comedians:
Richard Blackwood hit the stage in a tight superman top had the gal dem round me over weak, This guy is too funny, Swear down he had me in tears. Told a story about his Airport beef with an Asian boy and was acting though the story.... Too too funny.

Finally
Slim was the final comedian of the night and spoke on the differences between his generation and this one.
Sway performed Saturday night and FURX and mad the crowd stand up and party.

The overall night was a big success, Having Kat hosting was a great look and having it in a theatre, gave the night a much plush feel, only thing it missed was a Mr Midas performance lol

Then off to have a meeting with a Movie Director and Up and coming artist Jamin to work on a sick project we be filming next month!! Its so up2dertime I can't even call it a music video. I'm at home tired as hell been a hectic week did Birmingham, London and Derby Shows this week (Pictures and Videos coming real soon)

Wow

It’s been a hot min since I did this and soooo much has happened...

Okay main big deal is I shoot the video for my new single MIDAS feat David B, what a weekend I dunno if I thought I was P Diddy or something but I decided to do a 3day shoot Friday-Sunday… Not recommended by Monday I was a living Zombie.

Break down

Friday Day -1

Friday shoot was way down in the country side inside a university called Ravbourne. The set up was a studio scene so big lights, back drops cameras etc…

Friday wasn’t too hectic me and bridge got to the Uni about 11am and the camera crew where still setting up. Cerrian my producer but Director for the day greeted me at the reception and we went though to the green room.

Other then a very hectic dash from the studio to find my lost stylist who was somewhere in the woods lol (wasn’t funny at the time) the day went down quite smooth…

Damien O’Brien came down to impress the camera’s with his magic skills, my fellow musicool mate Darren Michelangelo Smith came down for a cameo, I had Ria Lopez aka Miss Flexy bending, flexing and dancing away in front of camera and the Lovely Helen Hudson showing off some sexy moves… (Camera crew very much enjoyed this part lol)

I did my thanngg and had a feature from the very lovely Natasha Hudson who was one of the main girls for the shoot.

Goldtouch TV was there catching the behind the scenes footage (coming soon so keep an eye out for that one.)

One thing I love about this game is…

When you start rising and becoming a name or a face you get invited to every event plus more, so Wednesday I headed down to Underground Launch night @ the very unique Proud gallery.

When I rolled in I was greeted by Katrina Browne the night’s organizer and founder of the event she gave the man dem our VIP bands my (Goldtouch TV team big up Bridge and King I) and we rolled into a very very smoky room full of industry heads.

Night was ight still performances from Snakey Man, Blemish and Paris 1 a blast from the past with Jason Jermaine (if you don’t know you’re late) plus loads more…

The night wasn’t hugely packed but for a there first they put together a nice night still and I ran into loads of old faces including my ex girl (random.)

AVX

Thursday Night was all about Sound night club Ace & Vis launch of AVX, as soon as I hit Leicester square I see the queue going all der way down the street, wow it was a lot but ya know Mr Midas doesn’t do that queuing hype so me, Snakey aka Mr. Arnold Oceng, Redrum, King & Bridge rolled in…

Soon as we hit inside there was wall to wall gal, man, celebrities , wanna be celebs and all the popular UK models a like everyone from Lady Dynamite, Sway, J2K, Ghetto, Tiny Tempah , Bashy just to name a few…

Performances from Donaeooooooooooooooo mashed up the place.
Sway did his ting and even had a guest appearance from the very sexy Stush for 'F U X', Ghetto & Wretch killed it with there performance of ‘Ina Di Ghetto’ But the performance that had everyone going into a frenzy was from Gracious ‘Napper Man’ with the 'Migraine Skank'
Now I’m ashamed to say I’m super late cause I ain’t ever heard of this dude more less the song but he had the crowd going wild.

Have to give a big shout to Mel who was celebrating her birthday alongside Vis and she and her girls partied hard.

The night was a huge success, liveo to the maxx big up Ace & Vis did there ting 110%

I hate mornings… and Mondays are the worst.

Like I just don’t wanna get out of bed, wanna sleep and dream of all the pretty ladies in the world… hmmm Christina Milan.

I woke up to my phones beeping away, loads of texts one from the very pretty Miss Natasha Hudson (Coleen’s Real Women) who was enquiring about the dates for my video shoot, Cam’ren Leigh texted me to tell me how good Kojo’s fun house was last night which I missed cause I was working away editing with GOLDTOUCH TV crew, it must have been good too cause she text me from 9am nutter! Spoke to Sarah the lovely lady who deals with my PR and had a start of week catch up then did the norm Facebook (which is really starting to bore me) twitter (aka the stalker site) all 3 emails address and now blogging away (Ama I feel blogstastic lol)

Anyways wonder people I got a lot of work to do so I wont sit here chatting away all day.

So its Sunday night 23:06 and I’m listening to the Master copy of MIDAS my new single dat Richie Rich just sent me (big up g) sounding big still....

I'm feeling super tired right now been editing all day with GOLDTOUCH TV for the first episode which is dropping in a couple weeks gunna be large.
